The charter was presented by the then district governor mjf lion s vasudevan with lion c.p.s.menon as charter president. At the time of registration the Lions Club of Central Madras, Chennai, India was known as Lions Club of Guindy East, Chennai, India. The name of the Club was changed to Lions Club Of Central Madras, Chennai, India by the unanimous decision of the General body of the club in a regular meeting.
